Anyone ride this board before? I got a used 162 for $75, and wondered if they piezoelectric gizmo in these boards really makes much of a difference for damping the board at high speeds? Some reviewers seem to think so.
I figured for $75 it was worth a try! Gotta be better than my old (and progressively more noodly) Burton Canyon 162.
Can't wait to try it out...

Re: K2 Electra w/ piezoelectric damping?
Mon, September 10, 2007 - 6:00 PMHmmmmm, gizmo-ery is always suspect in my book, but for $75 I bet it's great. Just remember, it's a poor craftsman that blames the tools.
Go run some hills for a few months before the season starts, strengthen your ankles (think french technique in mountaineering; pied a plat, pied assis!) and buy an ipod nano ( they don't skip). You'll go faster then any other surfer on the hill and it won't matter what you are on. Ride it like a rental!
Personally, I like a bit of 'noodle'. I ride a Burton fish, which if you end up on switch is like riding a spatula backwards. Carving it switch is crazy because the transition zone is so close to your leading foot and is almost non-existant. But it'll spook the tourists if you can pull it off!
OK, I've been drinking. -

I like noodle on powder, but on groomers and hardpack, gimme a stiffer board any day.
I'd love to try a Fish. I hear good things for the deep and steep.
