Happened in Mt. Shasta about five-six years ago. Pretty amazing when it does happen! There were 44 inches in a two day storm on the front yard, then a two day break before the next one came in and dropped another 40 inches on us. Every time you'd finally dig a hole to the street (I lived in town then) the damn plows would come by and shove a new four foot berm to dig through. Heavy wet Cascade concrete, though, very difficult to move even with an Arien's 7hp machine throwing it.

Sure was good backcountry on the Eddy's that week up at 10,000 feet...lite & dry compared to down below but some scary avalanche conditions. Digging pits every drop and avoiding the chutes completely. It was a "got peeps? got probes? got friends who know how to use them?" kind of week!

That 14,162 foot volcano sticks up so high that storms come in and stick on it like a magnet and just unload. Not so much the last few years according to my ex and stepkids. Especially on the low-elevation Ski Park. They all like the lite & dry and deep & steep up here when they come visit. Ya-hoo!

In '73-74 winter in Tahoe I remember a couple of storms that did that I think. A few times in Utah in the mid-late 80s. But it doesn't seem to dump like that much anywhere anymore. Now we call days "epic" when we get two and a half feet of fluff. Hmmmmm...
